Green forest fire notification in Brazil

A confirmed forest fire is burning in parts of Brazil through the end of September. This is a level two severity event, which means it is a moderate fire that teams are monitoring closely.

What is a wildfire? A wildfire is an unplanned fire that burns through natural areas like forests. They often start when dry plants, like grass or wood, catch fire from a spark or lightning. These fires can spread fast when it is hot and windy, moving across the land and changing the environment.

If you are near the area, stay indoors to avoid breathing smoke and follow all directions from local fire officials immediately.
