Drought is on going in India
The Drought notification level is Green.
Parts of India are currently experiencing a period of dry weather known as a drought. The situation is being monitored with a green notification level, meaning it is not currently considered an emergency.
What is a drought? A drought occurs when an area receives much less rain or snow than usual over a long time. This often happens because weather patterns change, preventing clouds from bringing moisture. Without enough water, the ground dries up, and it becomes harder for plants, animals, and people to get the water they need.
Help conserve water at home by taking shorter showers and making sure to turn off the tap while brushing your teeth.
This is a machine-assembled event record, not an official warning. For emergencies follow your national meteorological service and local authorities.
