First Mango Blossoms of the Season — Kerala, India

Kottayam, Kerala, India2026-08-23

The mango trees in this neighborhood have begun producing their first flowers of the season. Several mature trees were observed with large clusters of pale yellow-green blossoms. Honeybees and other small insects were actively visiting the flowers during the morning. Residents familiar with these trees say flowering appears slightly earlier than they remember from some previous years.

This single observation does not establish a climate trend. However, observations of the same trees from the same location year after year could provide valuable information about changes in flowering time, rainfall, temperature and eventual fruit production.
